Edgett Excavating has been a proud part of the Comox Valley for over 40 years. Growing steadily with the Valley since our incorporation in 1975. We have completed a wide variety of public and private projects including site development for some of Courtenay’s largest retail centers such as Walmart, Home Depot, Crown Isle Shopping Centre and the Comox Centre Mall redevelopment.
We have completed work for many Vancouver Island municipalities including the District of Tofino, Town of Qualicum Beach, Comox Valley Regional District, City of Courtenay, Town of Comox, Village of Cumberland, City of Campbell River, Strathcona Regional District, and the City of Powell River.

Noel Avenue Upgrading Project
Project Completion Date: November 2019.
Our crews upgraded road, sidewalk and utilities along Noel Avenue from Pritchard Road to Torrence Road. Including the addition of a bike lane and the culvert replacement in Brooklyn Creek.
Cannabis Innovation Centre
Project Completion Date: December 2019.
We completed the on-site and off-site underground utilities for the seven acre site on Military Road, near the Knight Road roundabout. The $20 million first phase included a 21,000 square-feet of greenhouse.
G.P. Vanier Seismic Upgrade Civil Work
Project Completion Date: September 2018
The school underwent an incredible transformation in phases. The complex five-phase project had kids in the school while the work was done. This meant a lot of coordination to ensure limited disruptions.
Dunsmuir Avenue Upgrades
Project Completion Date: June 2017
Edgett Excavating completed key infrastructure upgrades, which included 920m water, 1400m of storm sewer and 850m of sanitary sewer replacements. This project also included new asphalt and extensive sidewalk repairs.
Anderton Retaining Wall Repair
Project Completion Date: August 2016
This was an environmentally sensitive project were we worked closely with the City of Courtenay, BC Ministry of Forests, Lands, & Natural Resources Operations and the Department of Fisheries & Oceans.
City of Courtenay’s Fire Training Facility
Project Completion Date: 2015
The fire training facility is located on a 3.36 acre property on Waters Place in Courtenay, between Our office, Home Depot, and the BC Hydro substation.
